Duality of Worship

To be in the presence of a Righteous and Loving God is to be both terrified and comforted simultaneously.

For God so loved the world He gave His son Jesus to die for sinners and give us new life!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

And God is so angry with evil that he destroys the unrighteousness and all that is associated with it.

“The mountains quake before him and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at his presence, the world and all who live in it.”
‭‭Nahum‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

One cannot be cavalier with life and attitude. It is a gift beyond imagination. God created humans in His image and invites us to be His children and inherit His kingdom! Thus, when we chase other gods, the chief of which is our flesh, we commit spiritual adultery. We violate the most sacred of relationships by uniting our spirits with evil. And evil and righteousness can never mix.

On Rosh Hashanah, we tremble, knowing that we are being judged. We are forced to take stock of our inner world: Do I really want to behave this way? Do I really want to be that kind of person? Is this the direction I want my life going in? We take note of all of the junk cluttering our minds and interfering with our souls and we throw it out! We say to God, “I’m getting rid of all that garbage!”

But when we repent, when we confess our sins, when we turn away from the fatal path and put to death the flesh, God who is rich in mercy not only forgives but accepts us into His family and lavishes us with love.

“For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭15:24‬ ‭NIV‬‬
